First things first: A CBCT scan
A CBCT scan will be necessary to evaluate your jawbone structure and teeth. This will allow us to determine whether you have enough jawbone mass to support an implant or if your process needs to begin with the placement of a bone graft to strengthen your jawbone and stimulate bone growth.
What to expect during the procedure
Once your jaw has been prepped, the surgical procedure begins during which we place the anchor. The healing process during which osseointegration occurs with the jawbone fusing around the implant anchor can take several months. After the implant is placed, we will fit the patient with a temporary crown and begin healing. Then, when the healing process finishes, we place the abutment and then the crown, which can be permanent or temporary.
